This is the first bit of primary research for my new project, which can be found under the University Projects Tab. A trip to the daily living center in Brighton taught me a lot about existing products, services, and struggles the elderly, and the disabled face on a day to day basis. Such struggles and Disabilities I did not realise had such deep effects on so many aspects of life, for instance, a woman with arthritis that could not even brush her own hair. This is a place where product design is needed, care and support for independence through improved quality of life. Here is just a selection of photos I took on the day, but note the lack of aesthetic appeal, and color in general!
